We are looking for a full time Camera & Video technician to join the team at a growing small to medium sized agency. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to deliver brand activations, whilst shaping the agency and making Flashmat / Lighthouse the ‘stand-out’ in the industry.

The Technician role focuses on the technical aspects of events, activations and projects with high-profile clients. You will be responsible for delivering end to end technical aspects on projects from concept through production to delivery, with successful execution, working closely within a team.

This role is ideal for an individual with a technical and photographic / videography background, with a strong interest in creative / social media, with strong organisation and communication skills, who will drive projects forward in a fast-paced and creative environment.

Job title: Camera & Video technician

Summary

  • Full technical production and ‘end to end’ event / project delivery; showing hands-on abilities with cameras, photographic kit and software
  • Working closely with the production team to achieve a client project with a technical and problem-solving mindset; showing strong initiative, leadership qualities, communication skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines
  • This role suits an individual who is ready to get stuck in; hungry to broaden their knowledge in photography and videography and grow their experience in event tech. You will be working on a diverse range of exciting projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting up the tech needed to deliver successful and seamless activations
  • Managing photographic and computer / Apple equipment
  • Ability to learn photographic and videographic software (mostly Apple IoS based)
  • Ensuring equipment is fully tested and prepped
  • Maintenance of equipment: repair works including painting, drilling, fixing
  • Ensuring software is updated
  • Researching into new technologies and setups; taking on unfamiliar projects
  • Offering creative input with projects and within team discussions
  • Helping out with design work
  • Maintaining a high level of organisation; actioning tasks, having a detailed plan of action each day, supporting line manager; and working with the events team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Creating detailed tech journeys: Identifying pressure points and problem solving
  • Managing expectations; setting realistic goals and providing updates to the team
  • Performing admin tasks: keeping inventory up to date and re-ordering stock
  • Confident meeting clients in person and attending site visits/ setting up for events and report to your manager
  • Offering technical support (to clients and booth hosts on-site)
  • Providing training to booth hosts

Requirements

  • Essential
  • Experience in photography, videography
  • Experience handling camera, lighting and sound equipment
  • Experience in the event industry
  • Aptitude for tech / software
  • Knowledge about Wifi / networking
  • At least 2+ years’ experience working in a similar role within a company
  • Commuting to Hackney 5 days a week (Mon-Fri; 9:00 – 17:30)
  • Attending events / locations out of hours
  • Ability to do remote maintenance out of office hours

Desired

  • Knowledge of Adobe packages (photoshop, In design, illustrator)
  • Videography
  • Active user of or knowledge about Social media and marketing
