Finance Assistant

Join Papier as they are looking for a Finance Assistant

We are looking to recruit a second Finance Assistant to join our small Finance team, reporting to our Senior Finance Executive. You will be integral to the success of our day-to-day accounting and involved in all aspects of transactional finance.

As a Finance Assistant, you will be detail-oriented, highly organised, and enthusiastic about working within a fast-paced startup that is constantly evolving.


What will you do?

Purchase ledger

  • Purchase invoice processing onto Netsuite (our ERP and finance system) using an automation tool
  • Maintain the aged payables ledger and reconcile supplier accounts
  • Maintain the accounts email inbox and managing supplier relations
  • Process employee expenses and upload expense reports to Netsuite
  • Twice-monthly reconciliation of credit card accounts.

Sales ledger

  • Ensure sales invoices for the wholesale division are raised on time in Netsuite. This process is currently automated but needs regular review to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain the accounts receivable ledger and reconcile customer payments against sales invoices.
  • Work with the wholesale department to ensure prompt payment of sales invoices.

Banking and payments

  • Support the Finance Manager with reconciling payment processor control accounts on a period-end basis.
  • Have responsibility for weekly reconciliation of all bank accounts for our UK and US entity, ready for review by the Senior Finance Executive
  • Support with the preparation of twice-monthly payment runs, ready for review by the Senior Executive
  • Promote a rigorous financial control environment by consistently applying process controls

Reporting

  • Support the Finance team with management accounts preparation for Papier Ltd and Papier Inc
  • Compile balance sheet reconciliations, specifically bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, other debtors, other creditors and fixed assets
  • Assist in information provision and analysis, as required by the Senior Finance Executive.

Requirements

  • Started or completed your AAT studies, and have prior experience working in a similar Finance role
  • A desire to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of personal organisation
  • Diligence and a commitment to maintaining high standards. You will need to have prior experience working with confidential information
  • High levels of initiative and self-motivation
  • The ability to work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy with good Excel skills
  • Ideally, have prior experience working with Netsuite.
