About You

You are a problem solver, decision maker, and expert in seamlessly creating internationally distributed broadcast events. You are a team player and able to work quickly under pressure. You have a learning attitude and are open to new ideas and experiences, and enjoy problem solving. You work well in live environments, and appreciate collaborative work both internally with other technical individuals as well as broader broadcast teams.

What You’ll Do

You will be the trusted source of information and process to ensure that our event broadcasting runs seamlessly. If issues occur, you are one step ahead and already have the fix! During live productions, you will be the go-to source and on site for the technical team. You will carry out the maintenance and readiness of all broadcast systems, including: AWS EC2 instances, media servers, cameras, audio systems, broadcast and streaming services.

You are confident with the production workflow and how it operates. You are ready and willing to make placement/routing/status adjustments. You are adaptable in a fast paced environment. You are a lifelong learner, always looking for ways to apply new knowledge in order to streamline processes.

You will own the areas of:

• Transmission of live signals both out to destination end-points as well as received signals from venues based on show needs
• On-air trouble-shooting of systems as necessary
• Unique technical design, documentation, and equipment maintenance
• Work alongside our Director of Broadcast Engineering & Production to set up shows based on the established workflows and technologies
• Manage the virtual cloud machine infrastructure needs while ensuring the VMs are spun up and spun down according to show infrastructure needs
• Coordinate remote feed signal acquisition during live shows and transport for international feeds from partner events
• Work with a globally distributed team to construct and execute live events for viewers all over the world
• Partake in the design and deployment of new broadcast systems alongside the Director of Broadcast Engineering & Production

Preferred Skills

• 5+ years in broadcasting in a technical role
• Familiar with cloud systems such as AWS, Azure, GCP
• Familiarity with broadcast software such as vMIX and OBS
• Familiarity with programming and maintaining video routers, switchers, audio consoles, various transport protocols (NDI, SRT, RTMP), audio systems, and other production hardware.
• Knowledge of general broadcast workflows and terminology
• Experience working in live sports, news, or esports live production
• Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team
• Sense of ownership and responsibility
• Technical documentation

About the Opportunity
