Stationery Design Assistant

As the Stationery Design Assistant, you will be a key member of the design and product development process; working with the team to support design admin work in a fast-paced environment, as well as taking responsibility for your own design and other creative projects that fulfil the overall creative vision.

You will report to one of our Stationery Designers, taking ownership of designated tasks, working collaboratively with the design team, and communicating with the wider company to complete projects that will push the brand forward. You will have strong design skills in illustration and typography and will use your initiative to stay current and be aware of future trends, contributing significantly to Papier's growth as a global lifestyle brand.

Requirements

The day-to-day

• Create trend-setting, aspirational designs through the excellent execution of design projects.
• Utilise good skills in graphic design and print composition; translating these into product design and packaging ideas that align with our design strategy and brand identity.
• Support business needs and team goals by actively self-nominating for ad hoc requests.
• Ensure that all completed designs adhere to agreed quality standards, including correct uploading, file naming, artwork set up and exporting.
• Actively manage your own schedule and take the initiative to plan and establish a project's next steps.
• Develop a collaborative working relationship with key stakeholders by maintaining clear communication and escalating any project issues where necessary.
• Seek clarification and information on design performance in order to develop understanding further and identify own improvement opportunities.
• Support design team with admin tasks as necessary (preparing artwork for print & web, managing samples, etc)

About You

• You will be at the start of building your Graphic Design experience with a strong typography & layout skills
• It goes without saying you will need to have a strong interest in print & stationery design with a knowledge of paper stock, print techniques and print production
• An understanding of preparing artwork for print and web
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign 
• Highly organised and able to work independently, managing own workload and deadlines 
• Flexibility and willingness to learn and react quickly to the changing demands of a fast-paced environment
• You pride yourself on collaboration and have some experience working with teams outside of Design
• A proven track record of illustration skills or producing design-led stationery products, with a strong portfolio to support is a plus.
• A natural communicator who can build effective relationships and thrive on working cross-functionally and influencing others.
• Experience with packaging design a plus
