What will you be doing?

Establishing and/or maintaining active social media accounts for the Garden activities.  Researching and creating creative content for different social media channels that will effectively share the story of the Garden and building community impact.   

What are we looking for?

Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, customs, and traditions.

Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication, both verbal and non-verbal, to engage with individuals from different linguistic backgrounds.

Listening Skills: Capacity to actively listen and understand the needs and aspirations of refugees and asylum seekers.

Patience and Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing situations and to work patiently with individuals who may have experienced trauma or displacement.

Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with other volunteers, staff members, and community partners to achieve common goals.

Social Media and Marketing Skills: Proficiency in using social media platforms for outreach and promotion, as well as the ability to create engaging content to raise awareness about the community's initiatives.

Organizational Skills: Capacity to manage tasks, schedules, and resources effectively, especially when coordinating events or activities within the community.

Resilience and Positive Attitude: Ability to stay motivated and resilient in the face of challenges, while maintaining a positive and supportive attitude towards others.

These skills, combined with a genuine desire to make a difference and contribute to the well-being of others, would make an ideal volunteer for this role.

What difference will you make?

Your input will shape how we present the community garden to our service users, volunteers other supporters and the general public. With your help, we will be able to continue to help improve the lives of refugees, asylum seekers and other disadvantaged groups.  Our mission is to create a therapeutic horticulture project with disadvantaged groups, particularly refugees and asylum seekers, building community and networks of solidarity whilst learning and sharing skills around vegan-organic growing and creating a beautiful and relaxing garden together. Your support with social media and marketing of the project will help us thrive and make long-term growth sustainable at a critical time.  You will help us to appreciate the impact of a supportive community and the change they can bring to people's live.
