What will you be doing?

Sarah Keane established Keane Futures Ltd, an alternative provision and tuition centre in Aug 2021, during this process she identified a demand for holistic, bespoke support to families and young people who were facing barriers to learning. Sarah founded FACT CIC on Dec 2021, she holds a current Directorship. Sarah’s background is teaching and holds more than 24 years’ experience in classrooms and providing tuition services. Sarah has hands on experience teaching young people with SEND and realised that her passion is working with young people disengaged with education. Jenny Hodgson is a Director at FACT CIC, she is a qualified counsellor with many years of experience in the education system. Jenny runs the stables that offers equine services to FACT CIC and runs her own counselling company providing mental health services. Jenny’s passion is helping families of young people, implementing support, and mentoring to address issues within the household that directly impact the cohesion of the family unit. Kevin Self is the organisation’s Company Secretary and handles day-to-day administrative duties. What we need Our current directors hold limited skills and experience within the charitable sector and are seeking someone with the passion and drive to help develop the organisation to have the greatest impact and reach. FACT CIC has managed to secure funding without their first year to run the Beating Barriers programme and have managed to assist 88 families delivering 817 hours of SEMH/PD sessions, Tuition, Home Visits (family outreach work), Therapy and Mentoring. However, we are looking to develop our funding strategy and work on the development of the organisation to improve the service to our service users.
