Education

Primary and Secondary school personal development programme, focussing on working towards a dream. In particular, focus is on BAME students struggling with main stream education.   Social Action society aimed at year 12’s onward. Aimed at fostering positive progression and retention of black students.  Peripatetic teaching sessions in school for years 7 – 10. Supporting the development of HE students in the local community. 

The role of Trustee at Kainé Management is varied, stimulating, and hugely rewarding, especially for those who enjoy the arts. As a dynamic organisation, we are seeking highly credible and engaged senior leaders to join our dedicated and collaborative Trustee board. Key Responsibilities

Oversee the development, management and forecasting of Kainé’s budgets for both short and long-term financial objectives of Kainé. Provide financial insight and analysis to drive business performance of Kainé. Evaluate the financial performance of the organisation and measure returns on investments. Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the organisation.

Strategize on fund procurement through banks and other financial institutions. Achieve a proper mix of equity and debt to minimize cost and maximize operational profit.

Prudently make investments on assets that maximize returns. Ensure that the organisation has an appropriate reserves policy and a realistic budget that meets services’ needs. Keep the board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities. Work with the board to give information and advice on financial matters. Explain complex financial information in an accessible way.

What are we looking for?

Education and Experience                                                                                                     

Degree in finance/accounting or related (essential) Minimum of 7 years’ experience post qualification Financial experience at a senior level (Charity Finance preferable) Demonstrated proficiency in accounting and reporting. Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office and any financial planning software.

Competencies

Sound understanding of balance sheets, profit and loss accounts and budgeting. Ability to present complex financial information to non-finance person. Some understanding of the Charities Law and Charity Commission requirement. Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail with superb organizational skills. Excellent report-writing and communication skills. Relationship builder with key stakeholders High levels of integrity and honesty Demonstrate initiative. Good interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to change – resilient. Demonstrate appropriate levels of assertiveness.
