  • Developing user-friendly reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators and supporter engagement.
  • Assisting staff with data-related requests and optimizing digital campaigning strategies.
  • Maintaining high data quality and structure for effective reporting and dashboards.
  • Creating supporter journey insights to enhance engagement and long-term value.
  • A minimum of four years in data management and analytics with strong SQL skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and advanced spreadsheet manipulation.
  • Outstanding communication abilities and cultural sensitivity.
  • Experience with digital advocacy tools and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Additional language fluency, knowledge of digital advertising, and email deliverability are valuable bonuses.

Position Type - Full Time, with remote work options in specified countries and US states. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in their country of residence without visa sponsorship.

350.org is looking for a Senior  Data Specialist, who will be actively involved in every aspect of the data program behind 350’s effective digital advocacy campaigns work.

About the Senior Data Specialist

The Senior Data specialist will be handling critical data tasks, such as developing reports and dashboards, monitoring email deliverability, generally the quality of our data and designing tests to optimize our work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data warehouse andReporting:

  • Develop reports to provide data in a clear and user-friendly format, helping the organization track KPIs and understand our performance.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to help staff understand their progress and how our supporters interact with us.
  • Build detailed reports for key areas of our work, including fundraising, online actions and supporter engagement.
  • Create novel metrics for measuring and tracking our work.
  • Develop models of supporter behavior to allow us to be more effective.

Staff support:

  • Assist with data support requests from across the organization; working with the Product team to prioritize incoming requests and escalate requests as appropriate.
  • Support our digital campaigning staff with a variety of data tasks, such as targeting emails, uploading data from partners, developing segmentation schemes.

Data quality control:

  • Make sure our databases are clean and that the data is structured in such a way to make it possible to develop reports and dashboards.
  • Develop processes and procedures to maintain a high level of accuracy in our data.

Supporter user journeys:

  • Develop insights into how we bring supporters onboard
  • Research and design pathways to deeper engagement
  • Support other teams in evaluating acquired emails and their long term value.

Required Qualifications

  • At least four years experience working in data management and analytics.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL, ideally with multiple variants.
  • Comfortable writing formulas and manipulating spreadsheets to analyze one-off datasets
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts, such as significance, sample size, confidence intervals, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a sensitivity to cultural differences in communication styles.

Desired (but not required) skills and experiences

  • Knowledge of ActionKit, ActionNetwork, Control Shift, Python, Django, Redshift, MySQL, Mode Analytics, Optimizely, Google Analytics, Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Experience with Google BigQuery, Metabase or other data discovery tools
  • Prior experience with digital advocacy organizations

Bonus qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Google Adwords, Google Analytics, evaluating the ROI of ad campaigns.
  • Knowledge of other acquisition channels
  • Fluency in multiple languages
  • Knowledge of email deliverability and reputation management

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.
