Role Summary

  • Provide individualized support to participants employed at our coffee shops.

Role Requirements

  • Experience with the justice system is preferred.
  • Proven background in working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding, with DSL training being a plus.
  • Understanding of the criminal justice system, including license restrictions, probation, and disclosure.
  • Prior mentoring or casework experience is essential.
  • Skilled in engaging and motivating individuals from marginalized communities.
  • Capability to manage challenging behavior and have difficult conversations.

About Redemption Roasters We provide professional coffee industry training, both inside and outside of prison with direct pathways to long-term employment. As a social enterprise, we think differently to other specialty coffee companies; we strive for profit in order to achieve our purpose. This is a really exciting time to be joining Redemption. In the next 6 months, we are opening new coffee shops and training academies which will give us more opportunities to increase our impact.

The role We are looking for a Caseworker to support our participants who are employed at our coffee shops. You will be responsible for providing individual support for participants employed in our stores. You’ll work as part of the Impact team to ensure we create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for our participants. We are looking for an individual who is empathetic and able to connect with our participant employees, whilst being resilient to the challenges that they may be facing.

Job requirements Previous lived experience of the justice system either direct or indirect (preferable) Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals Good understanding of safeguarding (DSL trained preferable) Good understanding of the criminal justice system, license restrictions, probation and criminal record disclosure Previous 1-1 mentoring or casework experience Ability to work with both internal and external partners Ability to engage and motivate people from marginalised backgrounds Ability to deal with challenging behaviour and conduct difficult conversations
