As a Customer Service Coordinator, you will:

  • Be the primary contact for Riverford’s wholesale customers, managing orders and ensuring smooth dispatch.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and amendments with professionalism.
  • Coordinate logistics and prepare essential delivery documentation.
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the wholesale team’s efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the sister wholesale site in Ledbury for remote support.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in administrative or customer-facing roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in IT and software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities and communication skills.
  • The capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence in making outbound calls and a genuine interest in helping customers.

Customer Service Co-ordinator

Salary: £13.00 per hour

This is a permanent contract, 19 hours per week working Sunday, Monday & Wednesday, based at Lower Dean Buckfastleigh, Devon. It is essential you are able to commute weekly to our office.

What you’ll be doing…

The Wholesale Customer Team is the key interface between Riverford’s wholesale (business) customers and the wholesale dispatch and delivery teams. Responsible for taking and processing orders and the management of these through to dispatch. This includes query handling, an occasional complaint, order amendments, logistics arrangements and preparation of delivery notes; as well as the general administrative tasks in support of the smooth running of the Wholesale function.

We supply a wide range of businesses across the region including Farm shops, Café’s, restaurants and festivals. 

Riverford prides itself on customer service that is both personal and informative. You will share and communicate enthusiasm for good food from good farming with a rapid, friendly, helpful and professional response. 

We want you to leave a positive impression of Riverford and the service we offer with everyone you speak to.  You’ll need to be confident in IT and have some knowledge of software programmes (excel, word, outlook) as you will using a range of systems and processes. We work very closely with our sister wholesale site in Ledbury, Herfordshire  providing remote support/resourcing where required.

Skills & experience… 

•    Previous experience in a transactional administration or customer facing role would be beneficial.
•    Organised, excellent attention to detail, data processing and entry of supplier and customer information and orders. 
•    Strong systems knowledge, working to tight deadlines.
•    Excellent customer service skills as the role will involve frequent liaising with customers.
•    An Excellent communicator with good standard of spoken English and a desire to help customers.
•    Good team player, and ability to work on own initiative.
•    Be a people person and have confidence to make outbound calls.
