What will you be doing?

We're looking for skilled, UK-based individuals to manage our IT infrastructure, support system users, and ensure smooth operation of our Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and website systems. As a volunteer IT Administrator, you will dedicate around 6-8 hours a month and provide technical support to remote staff. Your role will involve managing our Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring data security, and supporting seamless communication and collaboration among our virtual team. This is crucial to enable us to pursue follow-up funding opportunities, including for the roll-out and expansion of our E-Save app, a tool designed to provide practical advice and small, achievable changes to help users cut household bills and reduce their carbon footprint.

What are we looking for?

Responsibilities (split across two roles):

Provide technical support to remote volunteers, diagnosing and resolving IT issues to ensure seamless system performance; Administer and manage Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and related cloud applications; Manage user accounts, permissions, and security protocols, ensuring compliance with best practices and data protection standards; Oversee and fine-tune the Microsoft 365 administration portal, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability; Maintain and enhance our WordPress website, handling updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation to provide an smooth user experience; Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and backups to ensure the integrity and availability of IT resources; Develop and maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for IT processes, system configurations, and user guides; Provide training and support to staff on Microsoft 365 tools, website administration, and best practices to enhance digital collaboration.

Experience:

Proficient in managing Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange Online; Proficiency in WordPress administration, including content updates, troubleshooting, and basic website optimisation; Troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently; Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users; Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively; Attention to detail, ensuring precision in system configurations, security settings, and website updates; Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and support colleagues in a remote work environment.
