As an Assistant Roaster, you'll join the beating heart of Origin’s production team in beautiful Porthleven, Cornwall. You’ll be trained by our expert Head of Coffee, Head Roaster and Quality team, gaining hands-on experience with commercial roasting equipment, roast profile management, and flavour development. Whether it’s green coffee handling, machine maintenance, or joining cupping sessions, you’ll be a key part of bringing our coffee to life, from sourcing to the final cup.

Job requirements include a genuine passion for coffee and a hunger to grow, calm, focused energy, great communication and team player skills, independent and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility, physically fit, process-driven, organised, and punctual, detail-oriented with a questioning, curious mindset, confident working with numbers, data, and roasting logs.

Please note: Our roastery operates Monday through Saturday, and although this is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week contract, weekend shifts are required as part of the role.
