About the Role:

In this role you will be responsible for managing the operational nuts-and-bolts of the UK Fellows Programme, from building outreach partnerships and Fellows selection to seminar logistics and Fellows communications. The role is full of autonomy, and we are looking for a highly organised self-starter who has experience delivering impactful projects/programmes. In this role, you will work closely with UK Acumen Academy’s Programme Director and Acumen Academy's global teams as you drive the delivery of the Fellows Programme.

Main responsibilities:

Drive the outreach and selection of Fellows

  • Lead the design & delivery of our outreach strategy, to help build a campaign that reaches potential Fellows across the sector, place and discipline
  • Build partnerships with outreach partners (networks, organisations, peers) across the UK to reach and engage potential Fellows
  • Manage the selection of Fellows, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, planning selection events, and managing communications with all applicants

Deliver the operations of the Fellows Programme

  • Deliver the logistics for organising and delivering in-person immersive residentials and online workshops, including the detailed planning, booking of venues, and monitoring expenses
  • Manage communications with Fellows and their overall programme experience, including week cohort emails, 1-on-1 support calls, and individual follow-ups
  • Track the performance and outcomes of the programme, including documentation of feedback and learning

Build deep relationships with Fellows & Faculty

  • Understand Fellows’ accessibility and inclusion needs, and help translate these needs into the delivery of the programme
  • Build partnerships to help provide support for Fellows, ranging from wellbeing sessions to accessibility & inclusion support
  • Help adapt Acumen’s global curriculum to the local UK context, and provide observation & support during facilitation, and facilitation delivery of specific parts of the programme

Required qualifications and skills:

  • You have 4+ years’ work experience managing fast-paced projects
  • You are highly organised person with a strong attention to detail who can manage competing priorities across a range of different tasks
  • You are a great verbal and written communicator who has a strong track record of building deep relationships with diverse teams and partners in service of achieving a shared goal
  • You are a self-starter who proactively takes ownership, turns ideas into action and drives projects all the way to the finish line
  • You thrive when there is ambiguity and remain cool-headed when there are curve balls
  • You are confident using digital tools such as excel, gsheets - and are quick to learn how to use new digital tools
  • You are committed to changing the way the UK tackles poverty, and aspire to live by our values: generosity & accountability, humility & audacity, listening & leadership, integrity & respect

Other nice to haves:

  • You have experience managing training and leadership programmes
  • You have experience designing and executing public events online and in-person
  • You have experience running a recruitment process (e.g. participants for programmes)
  • You have expertise in how to build accessible and inclusive programmes
  • You are confident using digital tools to create surveys, conduct analysis & synthesise information
  • You have relationships across the UK social ecosystem - with social enterprises, charities and other social change organisations

We have some office space in Somerset House, and for those working at home we’ll provide you with a laptop and an allowance to get yourself set up. In the post-COVID world, we’re experimenting with full flexibility to work from home or in the office as it suits you, but hope the whole team will be able to come together periodically.
