About us
At Arbor, we’re on a mission to transform the way schools work for the better.
You’ve probably seen the headlines. Heavy workloads, constant change, admin pressure on teachers and staff at every level… sometimes it feels like this is just part and parcel of school life today. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
We passionately believe that there’s a better way to work. And it starts by giving everyone the right tools and technology for the job.
We’re building a platform and products we believe in - as well as a strong, diverse team of experienced specialists, ex-teachers and Edtech engineers passionate about making a difference to the sector.
Ultimately, we’re here to help make our schools and trusts stress a little less, and focus on what matters most - improving the lives of teachers and outcomes of students everywhere.
About the role
As Partnership Manager, you will maintain Arbor’s position as the fastest growing MIS provider in England through prospecting, attending sales meetings and selling Arbor’s MIS system to schools and MATs of all phases within an allocated territory. You will focus on new business growth, assisted mainly by Arbor’s Partner, Marketing, SDR and Product teams.
Core responsibilities
Identifying likely target schools and organisations in your territory (defined by a set group of local authorities in England) and strategically plan for prospecting
Meeting with school Senior Leadership Teams to identify current challenges and tailoring the Arbor offering accordingly. This is a technical sales role that will require you to understand the school context and the use of MIS or similar systems.
Understanding how to best use or adapt Arbor’s software within the school’s context and improvement plan, including any change management issues
Feeding back school or system issues to the product team, and working with customers and engineers to create new products and tools to help improve education
Being proactive in your own development of skills, education and software knowledge- you’ll be working remotely but can meet with your team and schools as much as you need to to learn how to sell Arbor well
Work closely and collaboratively with partners to stimulate pipeline, understand the competition and encourage schools to continue with or switch to 3rd party support
Deeply understand your competitors and in which of your territories they have momentum with a clear plan to combat this
Understand the spread of hot and cold LAs within your territory and strategically plan to both capitalise on and stimulate growth
About you
A demonstrated passion for both education and technology
A highly personable and open attitude
At least 2 years experience of selling SAAS preferably into public sector organisations
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to credibly talk about data
A track record of meeting ambitious sales targets in a fast paced, high pressure, competitive market
A deep understanding of sales qualification, sales negotiation and the ability to close
The ability to persuade through use of qualitative and quantitative information
The desire to work independently in a rapidly growing, ever changing, non-hierarchical organisation
The wherewithal to develop your own skills and network, at pace, is essential
A car and a valid UK driver’s licence
Travel
Home based with a large proportion of web meetings
Sometimes travel by car/public transport for in-person meetings in your territory (up to 3hrs by car)
Travel to events
Sometimes need to stay away overnight
Travel to London, Leeds or Lincoln for planning and training with your colleagues monthly
