Job title: Warehouse Team Leader
Location: Kent, ME20 7BU
Reports to: Depot Supervisor
Work pattern: Sunday – Thursday, 23:00 – 07:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Pay: £13.15 per hour (£493.12 per week).
Summary of role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning team that takes pride in delivering top quality, organic produce direct to the customer’s door.
You will report directly to the Depot Supervisor and as the warehouse team leader it will be your responsibility to ensure that our team continues to maintain a high standard of health & Safety & Hygiene within the depot.
In addition, you will help and assist with the training of staff as and anticipate the training needs within your department, such as First Aid, Fire Marshall training etc.
You will be working within a busy warehouse environment and will be willing to go the extra mile to achieve expectations.
The successful candidate will also have a sense of passion and a positive “I can do attitude” as well as great attention to detail.
In addition, take full ownership and responsibility for their team and ensure that staff comply with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure that all staff take responsibility for housekeeping.
- Make sure Health and safety processes & policies are adhered to.
- To help and assist the depot supervisor with recruitment
- To train staff on all aspects relating to the warehouse operation.
- Ensure that staff attendance details are monitored & recorded
- Ensure that all security procedures are followed, and that depot is secure after shift
- Able to commute easily to and from the depot
- To be flexible during busy peak periods
Health & Safety
Maintain and Enforce health and safety policies and procedures within the depot.
Challenge any members of staff that fail to comply
Investigate and report any accidents and Near Misses on site.
Ensure that maintenance and safety checks are performed on all Forklift trucks and other Manual Handling Equipment
- Help and assist with fire and evacuation drills.
- Ensure that the site is kept clean and tidy and free from potential hazards.
- Ensure that at the start of shift all Safety checks are carried out such as Fire exits clear and accessible.
Experience and skills
- Strong commitment to high standards of hygiene and good food practice
- Competent IT skills, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
- Counterbalance forklift licence (desirable but not essential as we will train the right candidate)
- Demonstrable people management skills
- Excellent Health and Safety awareness
- Ability to work under pressure as an individual and as part of a team
- Have a ‘I can do’ attitude and encourage others to do the same.
- Great attention to detail
