Rising Academies

Across the developing world, more children than ever are in school, but they are not learning. In Sierra Leone and Liberia, research shows that even among young women who have completed primary school, more than 90% are unable to read a simple sentence. We want to change that. Rising Academies is a growing network of inspiring schools in West Africa. Our students develop excellent literacy, numeracy and spoken English as the foundation for success in further study, work and day-to-day life. Independent evaluations have found that Rising students make 2 to 3 times as much progress in reading and maths in one year as their peers in other schools.
