Introduction to the role
This is an excellent position in our Irish office, providing support for the Key Account Director within the sales team. The role will require an extremely high level of organisation and initiative, as well as an ability to rapidly acquire a high level of competency on company systems and confident use of Microsoft Office applications. Most of all we’re looking for personable, bright individual!

The position involves customer-facing opportunities, as well as being an important internal role.
Core responsibilities:
HarperCollins Ireland
Support the Irish Key Accounts Director.
Liaise with PR and Editorial on divisional matters
Distribute advance samples / proofs to retailers
Generate Territory sales reports
Create internal and external quarterly presentations
Liaise with Distribution Centre to manage new business and small accounts
Be the key communicator to the divisions on market performance
Admin
Create and organise 4/6 monthly customer presentations (in PowerPoint or other formats) and one off customer presentations so that customers are proactively and efficiently sold to e.g. for Eason / Argosy / Dubray Books / Newspread etc
Answer customer queries quickly and effectively
Keep effective records of all orders and deals so the business is able to review its customers and address issues rapidly
Process customer orders in a clear and timely manner, liaising with Glasgow distribution, credit control and customer services to ensure the effective distribution of orders so that invoices may be raised and books despatched in the business’ best interests
Order samples
Assist with author signings
Raise any required marketing PO’s
Generate order forms
Customer
Sell to specialists, Smyths Toys, selected Dubray Stores, Callistoy etc
Reserve stock for customers
Cover accounts for other team members where necessary
Experience required:
Sales experience
Strong commercial awareness
Experience of utilising Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbally
Professional, reliable, able to work under pressure and use own initiative
