At Beam, you get to do work that really matters. We’re solving the world’s toughest social problems. And we’re growing fast 🚀

It’s not easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. But we take care of everyone who works here with everything from coaching to a learning and development budget, and we pay competitively.

You’ll be joining a company that’s having a huge impact on people’s lives, with a culture where you can be yourself, have fun, and progress rapidly.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Bid Writer to help expand Beam’s work, win more contracts and ultimately support more people on their life-changing journeys into jobs and stable housing.

You’ll spend most of your time leading on the detail of high impact bids, writing compelling prose and designing programmes that inspire commissioners. You’ll also contribute to team-wide initiatives to take our bids team to new heights; share key trends you’ve identified across the bids you scope; and contribute to Beam’s wider expansion strategy.

While your primary role will be writing winning bids, you’ll also have the chance to dabble in market analysis, finance, and organisational strategy, depending on your development interests. It’s a great role for people who have outstanding bid or proposal writing experience and are eager to use their talents for good.

You’ll be

  • A bid writing master, pushing out high-quality proposals for public sector clients
  • An integral member of the Bid Writing team, leading on bid writing but also contributing to the team’s expansion strategy
  • The go-to person across Beam for submitting high-quality written work, including formal bid applications, grant applications, business cases, and much more!

You have

  • Experience in a professional bid-writing setting and a brilliant track record of having led on and won high-value bids
  • Strong and demonstrable writing skills
  • An analytical mind and obsession with perfection
  • A growth mindset and are hungry to learn
