Fear serves us very well in lots of situations. It protects us from bad outcomes. However, we are often fearful of things that aren't genuine threats to our safety or are based on "what ifs" (ie situations which aren't yet real). What if you can't do anything else? What if the people around you don't get it? What if you fail?

Career psychologist, Rob Archer sees fear as a choice. We can either listen to why we're afraid and plan accordingly to manage risks, or we can accept it and change direction. "In nearly all situations it is not a question of whether your fears are 'true' or not, but whether they are helpful to you."
